7 Day Self Drive Tour - Perth Dunsborough Margaret River Augusta Pemberton Denmark Albany

DAY 1
PERTH TO DUNSBOROUGH

Distance: 170 kms | Travel time approx. 2 hrs

Travel in Derive Camper Van luxury south to Bunbury and visit the Dolphin Discovery Centre to view the diverse marine life. Then head to the foreshore and with a little patience, you may be lucky enough for one of the local dolphins to visit. Carry on your journey to Busselton, approximately 50 minutes down the Bussell Highway, and then all aboard the fantastic train that will take you nearly 2 kms on the longest timber constructed jetty in the southern hemisphere. Whilst there take a tour of the jetty’s underwater observatory and marvel at Australia’s greatest artificial reef. Take some chill out time and enjoy a short journey of around 30 minutes to Dunsborough for the overnight stay in our comfortable Mercedes Benz campervan.

DAY 2
DUNSBOROUGH TO MARGARET RIVER

Distance 50 kms | Travel time approx. 50 mins

Wake up in beautiful surroundings of Dunsborough and jump on deck for a whale watching tour to take in the annual migration of the mightily majestic Humpback Whales. Continue your journey along the scenic Caves Road and stop off in Margaret River to enjoy the many World Class wineries, breweries and eateries. Relax once again and enjoy the end of the day with a Margaret River night stay.

DAY 3
MARGARET RIVER TO AUGUSTA

Distance: 41 kms | Travel time approx. 30 mins

Wake up refreshed and make yourself a coffee in our Derive Camper Van kitchen. Visit Margaret River and enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast, followed by a browse of the array of arts, crafts and fashion all positioned on the high street. Choose to visit one of the famous 40 surf spots and watch the surfing professionals in action. Continue your Derive Camper Van journey south experiencing the wonder of the tall Karri trees of Boranup Forest. Pause awhile and picnic amongst the 60 metre tall giants. Tour the Mammoth Cave, Jewel Cave and the Lake Cave. Continue on a further 15 minutes to reach the most South-West point in Australia and witness the Lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin. Thereafter it is a short 10 minutes to Augusta to retire for the night.

DAY 4
AUGUSTA TO PEMBERTON

Distance 125 kms | Travel time approx. 1.5 hrs

Up again and ready to continue on your scenic journey, enter into the cool climate of the premium wine regions of Pemberton, providing an ideal pit stop opportunity for lunch. Continue to explore the vast waterways of the Warren and Beedelup National Parks. After a long sightseeing day enjoy an evening dinner and then find yourself settling down in our comfortable luxury Derive Camper Van bed.

DAY 5
PEMBERTON TO DENMARK

Distance: 187 kms | Travel time approx. 2 hrs 15 mins

Up and ready to take in the beautiful scenery of South-Western Australia and head for Walpole, stopping off to experience the spectacular tree top walks in the Valley of the Giants. Climb 40 metres above the forest floor and take in the aw-inspiring views of Western Australia and mingle in the 400 years old Tingle trees. After all that exhilaration continue on to Denmark heading east on a 40 minutes scenic drive from forests to a crystal clear ocean. Change in to your swimwear and enjoy the William Bay National Park for snorkelling and swimming in Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks. Finish the day with a short 20 km drive to Denmark for dinner and then to settle down for a good night's sleep.

DAY 6
DENMARK TO ALBANY

Distance 50 kms | Travel time approx. 55 mins

Having had a great nights’ sleep; it is onward. Taking the Mount Shadforth Tourist drive and stopping off for a breakfast feast and to soak in the mountain and ocean vistas. Head east for 50 minutes towards Albany along the rugged coastline of Western Australia, whilst on route experience the Torndirrwp National Park, view the Gap, the Blowholes and the Natural Bridge. Now make your way back to Albany to enjoy your choice of taverns and restaurants located amongst the towns 50 Heritage buildings. After a long day time to relax and settle down in the comfortable beds in your luxury Derive Camper Van.

DAY 7
ALBANY TO PERTH

Distance: 415 kms | Travel time approx. 4 hrs 45 mins

After breakfast, take in the history by visiting Albany’s museums; head out to Discovery Bay where the only Museum of its kind exists within a former fully operational whaling station. Take a final look at the poignant Anzac National Centre. Having experienced Albany its time to head back to Perth taking the time to reflect on the spectacular views and experiences along your travels.
